Description

Mobeye PowerGuard CM4100 Power Failure Alarm

The Mobeye PowerGuard CM4100 serves as a power outage monitor and fault detector with versatile applications. Understandable, reliable, and compact. The power source is monitored by simply plugging the power adapter into a power outlet. Additionally, sensors and contacts can be connected to the alarm inputs. The built-in communication module can connect to both the 4G LTE-M and the 2G network, allowing you to use your phone to monitor for electrical power failures (power outages).

In the event of an alarm, the Mobeye PowerGuard sends notifications via an app (available for both iOS and Android), telephone calls  with voice message, text messages and/or emails. Your contact persons can be added, with different options for the method of receiving alarms. Additionally, it is possible to report alarms to a control room or an alarm receiving centre (ARC).

The Mobeye PowerGuard monitors the mains power or a 12-24V DC power source. In the event of an outage, it utilises the batteries to send the notifications and continuously monitor the inputs. After power is restored, the contacts receive a recovery notification.

The Mobeye PowerGuard is available in three versions: one with an EU power plug (Type C), another with a UK power plug (Type G), and a third with a USA/Canada power plug (Type A).

Installation is a straightforward process that can be completed in a few easy steps. You can either place the PowerGuard unit freestanding or use the mounting holes to hang it on a wall.

Mobeye PowerGuard, a powerful monitoring device

The PowerGuard offers various setting options, including automatic switch-on and switch-off times, alarm texts for each input, alarm delay settings, recovery messages, repeat notifications, and test messages. Batteries and a mains adapter (specific to your country) are included.

How it Works

IEX CM4100The Mobeye CM4100 serves as a remote power outage alarm, continuously monitoring the availability of external power and the status of connected fault contacts. The alarm dialler promptly sends notifications whenever there is a change in status, ensuring that you are always well-informed.

  1. Begin by plugging the mains adapter into a wall socket, and, if desired, connect a potential-free sensor to one of the inputs.
  2. The PowerGuard recognises power failure and an input alarm.
  3. In the event of an alarm, the PowerGuard promptly sends alarm messages to the designated contacts. When it comes to push messages, you have the option to choose between an escalation plan or a group message. With the escalation plan, the recipient has the option to confirm the push message, preventing other contacts from receiving the same message. If none of the recipients confirm the push message, a phone call is initiated. There is no limit to the number of contacts you can add. The Internet Portal provides you with valuable insight into the status and history of the system.

Typical applications for the Mobeye PowerGuard CM4100

The Mobeye PowerGuard CM4100 is specifically designed to alert you in the event of a power outage. Various factors can lead to power failures. In situations where power availability is critical, receiving a power failure alarm can help you avoid significant issues. While it’s nearly impossible to list all potential applications in the field, consider the impact of an unexpected loss of power in your own circumstances.

Typical applications are monitoring devices, such as

  • air conditioners
  • fridges
  • freezers
  • heaters
  • ICT servers
  • water pumps

Examples

The Mobeye power failure alarm system is used by:

  • airports, industries, ICT companies and many others for information about a decisive power outage.
  • security people who know that copper theft starts with shutting down the mains power.
  • banks that want to be informed when their ATM systems fail.
  • so many people for whom the availability of mains power is important.

However, even if power itself is not the primary concern, the Mobeye PowerGuard proves to be a versatile tool with its two alarm inputs, which can be configured as normally open or normally closed. This flexibility allows for the monitoring of various devices. In such cases, the Mobeye CM-Guard can also be considered; however, the PowerGuard offers the advantage of including the mains adapter.

SIM, Portal & App

All Mobeye monitoring devices require a SIM card for communication. The product comes with a budget-friendly SIM card, which provides direct access to the Mobeye Internet portal. Alternatively, you have the flexibility of using your own SIM card.

SIM
The Mobeye M2M SIM card provides the device with full functionality, allowing access to the Mobeye Internet Portal and App.

With the Mobeye SIM card, communication occurs over the 4G LTE-M network with 2G as a fallback. When you insert your own SIM card, the device utilises the 2G network. Alarm messages are then transmitted via SMS and/or call to a maximum of 5 telephone numbers.

The Mobeye SIM card is PIN-protected and exclusively functions in a Mobeye device. Please refrain from inserting it into another device.
