Description
Mobeye CM-Guard-42 CM4042 with 4 potential-free inputs and 2 relay outputs
The Mobeye CM4042 is an alarm module featuring four potential-free inputs and two relay outputs. It offers a dependable solution for monitoring sensors and remotely controlling device switches. When an alarm or status change occurs, the CM4042 promptly notifies designated contacts via an app, telephone call, SMS, or email.
The Mobeye CM4042 features four input channels and two output relays, and a built-in 4G communication module. Potential-free sensors and fault contacts can be connected to its inputs, while its outputs can be controlled remotely using SMS commands. The configuration options provide extensive flexibility, allowing users to customise the module to suit specific needs.
Potential-free Alarm Inputs
The Mobeye CM4042 is equipped with four NO/NC inputs for connecting alarm contacts and sensors. It can monitor the status of devices, external sensors, machinery, or sensor conditions. In addition to monitoring make/break contacts, the device interprets output signals ranging from 0 to 48V as alarm events.
Relay Outputs
The Mobeye CM4042 includes two bistable relay outputs capable of controlling devices with a switching capacity of up to 30V/1A. These relays are managed through SMS commands, and a pulse time can be configured to automatically deactivate the relay. Users can also send separate SMS commands to turn the relay ‘on’ or ‘off’.
External Voltage vs Battery-Powered Operation
When powered externally (>10VDC), the communication module maintains a continuous connection to the mobile network, enabling remote relay control via SMS. The device can also operate efficiently on battery power, actively monitoring its inputs for extended periods.
Power Failure Alarm
When connected to an external power source, the Mobeye CM4042 monitors the status of the power supply. In case of a power failure, it sends notifications via push messages, voice calls, SMS, and/or email. The device can be powered using a regulated 12–24V DC source or a mains adapter. During a power outage, its internal batteries take over seamlessly, and notifications are sent. Inputs and connected sensors continue to function, and a follow-up notification is issued once power is restored.
Alarm forwarding and enhanced security
The Mobeye CM4042 transmits alarm notifications via the Mobeye Messages App (iOS/Android), voice calls, text messages, and/or emails. For push notifications, users can opt for an escalation plan or group messages. In the escalation plan, recipients confirm the message to halt further notifications. If no recipient confirms, the system escalates to a phone call. The number of contacts is unlimited.
How the Mobeye CM4042 Works

The Mobeye CM4042 monitors fault contacts or sensors and enables remote control of connected devices, pumps, or motor switches.
- Connect the start/stop mechanism of your device to the relay outputs. Attach potential-free contacts, such as sensors or fault contacts, to the inputs. Connect an external power source.
- Activate the connected device via an SMS command. You can configure a pulse time for the output relay to switch it off automatically or use separate SMS commands to turn it ‘on’ and ‘off’.
- When an alarm is triggered, the CM4042 sends notifications to designated contacts and can optionally switch the output.
Typical Applications for the Mobeye CM4042
The Mobeye CM4042 with 4 potential-free inputs and 2 relay contacts is ideal for:
- Monitoring NO/NC contacts.
- Machine monitoring.
- Device control.
- Pump control.
Note: The CM4042 is supplied with an indoor housing (IP44). For outdoor use, you should order the IP66 enclosure as an optional extra.
✅ Using the included Mobeye SIM card? You get full access to the Mobeye Portal and app, 4G connectivity with 2G fallback, unlimited contacts, push notifications with escalation plan, and remote programming. Subscription rates at mobeye.com/en/sim-portal.
⚠️ Using your own SIM card? If you use your own SIM card, the features of the Mobeye Portal and Mobeye App will no longer be available. Alarm notifications will instead be sent via text message and/or phone call to a maximum of 5 phone numbers. Please note that not all mobile network operators support the call function, some additional security features will be unavailable, and Mobeye will be unable to provide the full range of support options. For full functionality, use the included Mobeye SIM card.
